Hadana and the Skating Club
Over a vacation weekend, Deborah sat down at the breakfast table with her seven-year-old niece Hadana. What began as a game of finishing each other's sentences birth a wonderful heartwarming story. The story unfolded over two days, and four years later the book was written. The front cover was illustrated by Joy Brooks, who was a senior in high school.
This story tells how a young girl learns how to understand and gain compassion for someone who has an unpleasant personality.
Lesson: This story will help the child learn how the loss of, or concern for, a loved one can change a person’s personality. It will open the door to compassion and the need to understand the person is hurting.
